How to Connect with People and Influence with
Integrity Easily and Effortlessly
If you are to begin influencing more people, closing more sales, or perfecting your relationships then there are a few major areas you need to master first if you are to make this happen.
The first step then is the need to know how to connect with people.
If you want to increase your rate on return, lets say in sales, business, or relationships, then the very first thing you must do in order to make it happen is to connect with people and you must learn to do it quickly.
Therefore the first step is you must learn the secret to connecting so you can build relationships and fast, all before your competition gets there first. The way we do this is to establish Rapport.
The meaning of rapport is the process of matching and mirroring someone so they uncritically accept the suggestions you give them and this is mainly done at the unconscious level.
Now this is not your traditional form of connecting, most people think that if we like the same things or had common points of refernence then we are in, however that is far from true. This is a very new way of connecting and a very effective way of assisting you to create outstanding results and in every area of your life.
By building rapport we mean, it happens out of our conscious awareness and the aim is to begin to become like them.
The basis of rapport is that when people are like each other they like each other.
When you build a relationship and you have connected with them you will start to notice that they will act and behave differently towards you, they may actually start opening up and listening to what you have to say.
It is from here that you start to build trust.
Let me give you an example: If you raise your right hand and I raise my right hand this is known as matching, and if you raise your right hand and I raise my left hand this is known as mirroring. (Like when you look in the mirror)
When mastered you should be able to connect with people and get your message across easily and effortlessly.
Master communicators of all time know how to connect with people and do this well, they know how to build rapport and get into it very quickly.
The end result is you have built trust with someone where you will have undeniable client attention, understanding and acceptance.
How do we build rapport at the unconscious level?
Let's say you are on the phone making a sales calls or a presentation, one way you could do this, is by matching people’s tonality, which is 38% in communicating effectively with someone else.
You can match their tone (pitch) of their voice, the tempo (speed) at which they speak, you can match the timbre (quality) or you can match the volume (loudness) of their voice.
Exercise:
Next time you are conversing with someone, giving a presentation or even talking to someone on the phone, why don’t you give this a go and see what happens. You may be amazed at how easy it is to connect with people and the inroads you will make.
